Job summary

Atlas Staffing is hiring a full-time Structural Steel Machine Operator for a well-established Spokane fabrication shop. The role involves operating CNC plasma and oxy-fuel burn tables, beam lines, saws, press brakes and related equipment, with a 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM swing shift and Friday overtime.

You will read blueprints, set up machines, monitor performance, and help maintain safety and quality standards. A high school diploma or GED and experience with heavy fabrication equipment are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience operating structural steel fabrication equipment or similar heavy machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Strong math skills with ability to read a tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC plasma and oxy-fuel burn tables, beam lines, saws, drills, grinders, shears and press brakes.
• Set up machines and adjust feeds, speeds, tooling and material placement.
• Read blueprints/shop drawings and verify tolerances on parts.
• Load/unload materials with overhead cranes; perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area and meet production goals.

Compensation: $22.00 - $26.00

Loading... Structural Steel Machine Operator Atlas Staffing is hiring a full-time Structural Steel Machine Operator for a well-established steel fabrication company in Spokane, WA. If you have experience operating fabrication equipment such as burn tables, beam lines, saws, press brakes, or other steel processing machinery, we'd love to hear from you! Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour Shift: Monday-Thursday | 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM Overtime available on Fridays

What You'll Do

• Operate structural steel fabrication equipment including CNC plasma and oxy-fuel burn tables, beam processing equipment, saws, drills, grinders, shears, and press brakes.
• Set up machines and adjust feeds, speeds, tooling, and material placement according to job specifications.
• Read blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders to accurately process steel components.
• Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards and tolerances are met.
• Load and unload steel materials safely using overhead cranes and other material handling equipment.
• Monitor machine performance and perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Work with team members to meet production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience operating structural steel fabrication equipment or similar heavy industrial machinery.
• Experience with plasma burn tables, beam lines, press brakes, plate processing equipment, shears, saws, or similar fabrication machinery is highly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Strong math skills and the ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Understanding of fabrication tolerances and quality standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment.
• Forklift and/or overhead crane experience is a plus.
• Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
