Job summary

Lignetics Inc. in Strong, Maine, is seeking a Mill and Dryer Controls Operator to monitor and control pellet production.

The role requires operating pellet mills and dryers, monitoring temperatures and material levels, adjusting blends, and ensuring safety and quality in a fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to respond quickly to changing production conditions while following English safety instructions and LOTO procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years of production experience in an industrial setting preferred.
• Must successfully complete forklift certification.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to read and follow safety procedures in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate and adjust pellet mills and regulate dryer inlet/outlet temperatures.
• Monitor material levels and adjust to maintain consistent production.
• Regulate material blends for optimal moisture and density.
• Balance ratios of fresh/aged sawdust and wet/dry shavings per specs.
• Track pellet moisture and density to meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and safety concerns.
• Maintain pellet mill feed rates and adjust rolls/dies as needed.
• Complete daily production reports with readings and tonnage.
• Communicate equipment and production issues to supervisors.
• Maintain a safe, organized work area and perform other duties.
