Job description

Effective Date: May 22, 2025

General Purpose

The Swim Team Coach is responsible for providing instruction and workouts that will prepare participants for their individual needs and swim meets. Coaches will provide a productive learning environment that gives equal opportunities to all swimmers.

Summer Schedule

June 2 – July 15th, 2025 | Monday-Friday practices from 9:00-10:45 AM.

Additional Hours

Swim meets take place on Tuesday (Ages 8 & under) and Thursday (Ages 9 & over) afternoons/evenings. There are 6 total swim meets.

Required Skills

• Plan swim instruction and workout curriculums for all developmental levels and groups.
• Provide feedback to participants and parents to facilitate improvement.
• Enforce aquatic rules and policies by maintaining constant surveillance of class participants.
• Set up pool and equipment, store equipment, and secure facility upon completion of practice.
• Attend all practices, swim meets, and staff meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have two (2) years of prior experience with competitive swimming OR coaching.
• Must be proficient in swimming and safety skills.
• Must have the ability to motivate and educate participants.
• Must obtain the Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
