Job summary

The Bellefonte YMCA is seeking part-time Swim Lesson Instructors to teach using the Y USA Swim Lesson Program and YMCA of Centre County approved lesson plans. Shifts are available throughout the week to fit various schedules.

Qualifications include being at least 16 years old and prior swim experience; teaching experience is preferred. Salary ranges from $18 to $25 per hour, with generous employee discounts and a free YMCA membership for access to all four YMCA of Centre County facilities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Prior experience teaching swim lessons preferred.
• Prior swimming experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm and positive environment while encouraging swimmers to meet course objectives.
• Follow lesson plans and create drills and activities within program guidelines.
• Enforce all safety rules and report concerns to the Program Director.
• Take attendance and ensure private lessons are processed properly at the front desk.
• Communicate with parents about child progress and keep pool area clean.
