Job summary

A community-focused YMCA organization in State College is seeking part-time Swim Lesson Instructors to teach swimming utilizing the Y USA Swim Lesson Program. Instructors will create a warm environment and maintain positive rapport with parents while following lesson plans. Responsibilities include taking attendance, communicating progress, and ensuring safety in the pool area. The position offers a starting salary of $18 per hour with additional benefits including free YMCA membership and employee discounts on programs.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.
• Prior experience teaching swim lessons preferred.
• Prior swimming experience necessary.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm and positive environment while encouraging swimmers.
• Maintain positive rapport with parents and patrons.
• Follow lesson plans and create drills within guidelines.
• Support and enforce facility rules with emphasis on safety.
• Take attendance and manage class roster.
• Communicate with parents about child’s progress.
