Job summary

Juneau Pools, part of the City & Borough of Juneau, is seeking a part-time Recreation Worker II (Assistant Aquatic Instructor) to support swim lessons at the Dimond Park Aquatic Center. You will help with class management and keep eyes on all students during lessons.

Shifts are weekday evenings during the school year and weekday mornings in summer, with occasional Saturday mornings. CPR/First Aid within 30 days of employment is required, and certification within 3 months is expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with children and guardians.
• Ability to follow directions from aquatic instructors.
• Willingness to learn new teaching strategies.

Responsibilities

• Assist aquatic instructors with class management during swim lessons.
• Help gather and organize equipment for lessons.
• Ensure students are supervised and safe during sessions.
