Job summary

City & Borough of Juneau's Parks and Recreation Department is hiring multiple Head Lifeguards for the Dimond Park Aquatic Center. You will supervise lifeguards, enforce rules, monitor swimmers, and respond to emergencies while directing staff on deck.

These part-time positions offer steady evening shifts and a complimentary pool pass. Ideal candidates are proficient swimmers, lead teams well, and work calmly in a busy, public setting.

Qualifications

• Must be certified as an American Red Cross Lifeguard or equivalent.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• At least 18 years of age at time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Direct lifeguards on pool deck and monitor swimmer safety.
• Enforce facility rules and respond to emergencies.
• Open/close the facility and oversee maintenance tasks.
• Assist with crowd control and ensure a clean environment.
