Job summary

Juneau Pools is seeking a Recreation Worker II, also known as Assistant Aquatic Instructor, to join the Dimond Park Aquatic Center team in Juneau. You will assist certified instructors and help ensure a safe, engaging lesson environment for children.

Shifts are weekday evenings during the school year and weekday mornings in summer, with occasional Saturday mornings. The role includes equipment setup, classroom support, and periodic training to learn teaching strategies.

Qualifications

• Must be friendly and able to work with children in an aquatic setting.
• Ability to follow directions from aquatic instructors.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist aquatic instructors during swim lessons and help with class management.
• Keep eyes on all students and ensure safety during lessons.
• Assist with gathering equipment and preparing for lessons; attend periodic trainings.
