Job summary

Greater Somerset County YMCA is seeking a dedicated Swim Instructor to teach swimming sessions, build relationships with members, and ensure a safe, engaging environment. The role emphasizes excellent customer service and alignment with YMCA values.

Requirements include HS diploma, YSL/WSI certification, Bloodborne Pathogens training, and completion of SH YMCA safety trainings. This is a part-time aquatic position with opportunities for growth within the YMCA movement.

Qualifications

• Has 1+ experience in teaching Swim Lessons.
• Proven track-record in attracting and retaining new clients/participants.
• HS diploma or equivalent and required YMCA certifications listed below.

Responsibilities

• Engages all members/participants in a professional and courteous manner.
• Greet/say hello and goodbye to all participants and learn members' names.
• Listen and be accessible to all members for questions and comments; follow-up as needed.
• Engages members on new classes, changes, etc.
• Maintains proper functioning/cleanliness; reports malfunctions to supervisor.
• Adheres to YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
