Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is seeking a Swim Instructor for Basic, Intermediate & Advanced levels in Silver Spring, MD. You will ensure safety, manage class control, and prepare lesson plans for each session, while maintaining attendance and progress records.

CPR and First Aid are required, with YMCA certifications preferred. Role includes teaching group and private lessons, coordinating with lifeguards and staff, and upholding high standards of customer service and safety.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certifications required.
• YMCA Swim Lesson Certification within 9 months.
• Experience with swim instruction and safety protocols preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety procedures are in place for each class.
• Provide clear directions and maintain class control and attendance.
• Develop lesson plans and keep records of progress and attendance.
• Teach group and private lessons and communicate with parents and staff.
• Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as required.
