Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is seeking a Swim Instructor to teach Basic, Intermediate and Advanced levels, ensuring safety and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons. You will develop lesson plans, evaluate stroke technique, keep progress and attendance records, and provide constructive feedback to students and substitutes.

Must be age-appropriate, obtain YMCA Swim Lesson Certification within nine months, and meet additional level requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have YMCA Swim Lesson Certification within nine months.
• Intermediate requires 2 years' experience and at least one swim lesson cert.
• Advanced requires 4 years of aquatics teaching experience and multiple certifications.

Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans for each class of the session.
• Evaluates stroke technique of participants and keeps progress records.
• Teaches group and private lessons.
• Ensures safety procedures are in place for each class.
