Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a PRN Swim Instructor Mentor for the Fitness Center to provide safe, proficient swim instruction to learners of all ages. The role emphasizes supervising and enforcing safety, including PHI awareness and compliance with UH policies.

The position requires teaching during evenings and weekends, maintaining a minimum teaching load of 10 clients per week, and collaborating with parents and guardians to support learner progress.

Qualifications

• Must be able to teach swim to children and adults who cannot swim
• Experience handling learn-to-swim equipment is preferred
• Strong communication with parents/guardians of learners is required

Responsibilities

• Provide proper and safe swim instruction for learners
• Learn, monitor, and enforce applicable laws, rules, and policies
• React to emergencies in a safe and effective manner
• Plan individual or small group swim sessions
• May serve as a camp counselor and support youth programs
• Perform other duties as assigned; comply with policies and PHI handling rules
