Job summary

The Center for Disability Services is seeking Swim Instructors for a seasonal program at the Queensbury Elementary School Pool, 5/6/26-6/10/26, Wednesdays 4pm-6pm. Instructors will teach and supervise aquatic lessons, assist participants entering and exiting the pool, and follow safety protocols per NYS health standards.

Responsibilities include pool deck upkeep, participation in training, and attendance at scheduled department meetings.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Less than 1 year of relevant experience with people with developmental disabilities.
• Ability to work with children in a pool environment and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and supervision of aquatic lessons and activities.
• Assist client in and out of the pool and adhere to safety practices.
• Assist clients in preparation for activities and implementing flotation equipment.
• Clean/maintain pool deck in accordance with pool protocol and health standards.
• Participate in training and development activities and pool setup/closing duties.
• Attend department meetings and report incidents with proper documentation.
• Inspect waterfront equipment and report defects with recommendations.
