Job summary

10 Center for Disability Svcs Inc is seeking Swim Instructors to work at Queensbury Elementary School Pool. This role involves providing instruction and supervision during aquatic lessons, ensuring safety, and assisting clients during activities.

• Inspect waterfront equipment and report defects.

Job Overview

The Center for Disability Services offers hope, innovation, and achievement to individuals with disabilities. For 80 years, we have been one of upstate New York’s largest providers of programs and services for individuals who have disabilities. We are searching for Swim Instructors to work at Queensbury Elementary School Pool during the event dates.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and supervision of aquatic lessons and activities.
• Assist clients in and out of the pool.
• Adhere to standard safety practices, as well as job, department and Center policies and procedures related to safety.
• Assist clients in preparation for activities as needed, including transferring and putting on of flotation equipment.
• Clean/maintain pool deck sanitation as directed by Queensbury School Pool protocol and in accordance with New York State Department of Health standards.
• Participate in training and development activities in accordance with department and Agency policies.
• Engage in pool set up and closing duties in accordance with Queensbury pool policy.
• Attend meetings as scheduled by Department.
• Notify supervisor of incident and complete Incident Reports when necessary.
• Inspect all waterfront equipment and report any defects with recommendations for correction to supervisor.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of job related experience, specifically with people with developmental disabilities.

Compensation

Compensation Range: $20.00 – $20.00 per hour.
