Job summary

Center for Disability Services is seeking Swim Instructors for the Queensbury Elementary School Pool in New York. This position runs from 5/6/26 to 6/10/26, focusing on instruction and supervision of aquatic lessons. Responsibilities include adhering to safety practices, assisting clients in and out of the pool, and maintaining pool sanitation. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with less than 1 year of job-related experience with individuals with developmental disabilities. Compensation is set at $20.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and supervision of aquatic lessons and activities.
• Assist clients in and out of the pool.
• Adhere to standard safety practices and policies.

• Clean/maintain pool deck sanitation as directed.
• Participate in training and development activities.
• Engage in pool set up and closing duties.
• Attend meetings as scheduled by Department.
• Notify supervisor of incidents and complete reports.
• Inspect all waterfront equipment and report defects.

We are searching for Swim Instructors. Dates are 5/6/26-6/10/26 on Wednesday's from 4pm-6pm at the Queensbury Elementary School Pool.

Responsibilities

• Will provide instruction and supervision of aquatic lessons and activities.
• Assist client in and out of the pool.
• Adhere to standard safety practices, as well as job, department and Center policies and procedures related to safety.
• Assist clients in preparation for activities as needed, including transferring and putting on of floatation equipment.
• Clean/maintain pool deck sanitation as directed by Queensbury School Pool protocol and in accordance with New York State Department of Health standards.
• Participate in training and development activities in accordance with department and Agency policies.
• Engage in pool set up and closing duties in accordance with Queensbury pool policy.
• Attend meetings as scheduled by Department.
• Notify supervisor of incident and complete Incident Reports when necessary.
• Inspect all waterfront equipment and report any defects with recommendations for correction to supervisor.
