Job Summary:

The Swim Instructor provides swimming instruction following YMCA guidelines, ensuring safety and satisfaction in a positive environment.

Essential Functions:

• Teach swimming to various age groups and skill levels
• Supervise students and assist as needed
• Understand and communicate pool policies
• Assess and place students in appropriate skill levels

Relationships:

Reports to the Aquatic Supervisor/Director and interacts regularly with staff, volunteers, and participants.

Qualifications:

**Required:** Minimum age 16, relevant certifications, CPR/AED, First Aid, oxygen certification within 120 days, swimming proficiency, dedication to safety and YMCA values.
**Preferred:** YMCA Swim Instructor certification.

Work Conditions:

• Constant presence in the pool area
• Ability to support body weight in water
• Remain alert in warm environments
• Recognize and address hazards effectively
• Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
