Swim Instructor (Security)

Join our team as a Swim Instructor at the YMCA! We are looking for enthusiastic, safety-conscious, and customer-focused individuals passionate about water safety and teaching.

Role Overview: The Swim Instructor teaches swim skills to youth and adults, promoting safety and enjoyment in water. This role is vital in helping create recreational swimmers and ensuring safety around water, especially in a region with over 10,000 lakes.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide swimming instruction to various age groups and skill levels.
2. Maintain constant supervision of students, ensuring safety and positive learning experiences.
3. Understand and communicate pool policies and swim lesson levels.
4. Evaluate students and recommend appropriate skill level placements.

Qualifications:

• Minimum age of 16.
• Experience in swimming; training provided for teaching techniques.
• Patience and excellent communication skills with all ages.
• Ability to swim in shallow and deep water, including treading water.
• Preferred: YMCA Swim Instructor certification.

Work Schedule: Monday-Saturday, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm (Monday-Thursday), Saturday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm, with flexibility as needed.
