Position: Swim Team Coach Leader
Under the direction of the Aquatic Leader, the Coach Leader manages the swim team in accordance with YMCA of the USA rules and the respective swimming league regulations. The Head Coach is responsible for preparing practice workout plans and swim meet line-ups, ensuring a positive, healthy, and valuable experience for all participants.

Qualifications:
- 18 years or older, High School diploma or equivalent, with 2 years of related experience in developing and conducting programs
- Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends
- Knowledge of computer software used for meets and swimmer line-ups
- Current Swim Lesson Instructor Trainer or ARC Lifeguard/First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer instructor certification
- Maintain current instructor and trainer certifications (YMCA, Red Cross, etc.)
Responsibilities:
- Lead swimmers through skill mastery and practice sessions
- Recruit, train, and supervise competitive swim staff; conduct monthly staff meetings
- Evaluate swimmer skills; provide coaching to master strokes
- Check equipment regularly for repairs or replacements
- Ensure fair practice and meet experiences
- Conduct practices with energy and enthusiasm
- Provide support and encouragement to participants
- Supervise swimmers before and during water activities; ensure safety at all times
- Manage swim meets, including warm-ups, events, and volunteer coordination
- Set up home meets and collaborate with parent volunteers
- Communicate YMCA rules clearly; be accessible and identifiable
- Assist the Aquatic Director to meet safety standards
- Lead by example with professionalism and accountability
- Participate as a member of the management team
- Support the Annual Campaign by developing donors and volunteers
- Serve as a branch management team member and Director on Duty
- Attend staff meetings and trainings
- Perform additional duties as assigned
