Job summary

Columbia Hospitality seeks a Sweet Waters Server for Valley River Inn in Eugene, Oregon. You will take orders, upsell offerings, and deliver attentive service to guests, ensuring memorable dining experiences at the riverfront property.

Responsibilities include accurate order entry, coordination with kitchen, and maintaining a polished dining area while complying with liquor laws and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a server in a similar restaurant setup.
• Able to handle AM and PM shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Familiarity with POS systems and guest payments.

Responsibilities

• Take orders and serve food and beverages following established standards.
• Enter orders into POS and relay special requests to kitchen.
• Ensure attractive presentation and correct serving temperatures.
• Maintain clean and organized dining area and follow cash handling procedures.
• Stay current on menu items and promotions.

What Success Looks Like

Your Impact

• Takes orders and serves food and beverage items to guests in accordance with established standards
• Enters orders into computerized Point of Sale system and communicates any special requests to the culinary team
• Assembles food items, such as appetizers, salads and soups
• Ensures attractive, consistent presentation of food and beverages. Ensures that all food and beverage items are served at the correct temperature
• Maintains current knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including menu changes and sold-out items
• Processes guest payments, using proper accounting and cash handling procedures
• Keeps work area, including guest dining area, clean and organized

What You Bring

• Previous experience as server in a similar restaurant environment
• Available for AM & PM shifts, weekends and holidays
• Ability to perform essential functions on the computerized Point of Sale system
• Working knowledge of dining and beverage service procedures
• Working knowledge of applicable liquor laws and regulations
• Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s) and OLCC Permit
