Job summary

SunState Medical Specialists (SMS) is seeking a Vice President, Radiation Oncology to lead the radiation oncology service line across Florida’s 25 centers. Reporting to the CEO, the VP will oversee site management, staffing, performance, recruitment strategy, EMR utilization, and integration with SMS teams to create a unified SMS radiation oncology practice.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in radiation oncology, multi-site leadership, and strong relationship-building with physicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field required; master’s preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of radiation oncology experience, including 5+ years leading multi-site operations at the director level or above.
• Proven experience leading multiple layers of management across a large, dispersed footprint.
• Working knowledge of RCM and EMR optimization.

Responsibilities

• Build physician relationships and advocate for clinicians; create forums for input and feedback.
• Lead regional/area managers and center managers; set expectations and develop leaders.
• Drive revenue, expense and productivity targets; collaborate with Finance on capital planning and reporting.
• Expand capabilities and strengthen integrated care with medical oncology, urology and referral partners; identify new center and market opportunities.
• Lead radiation oncologist recruitment and onboarding; ensure physicians succeed and stay; oversee EMR and revenue cycle optimization.
