Job summary

BNY Mellon in New York, NY seeks a Senior Vice President to lead the Mainframe Engineering team. The role focuses on consulting with internal business groups to provide advanced application software development services and to resolve highly complex problems impacting the business.

You will program, test, review, and deploy mainframe solutions, develop flowcharts and documentation, maintain system currency, and apply security and privacy principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 9–11 years of diverse IT experience; securities/financial services industry experience is a plus.
• Direct mainframe experience with infrastructure, hardware, system programming, or application development.
• Strong communication to lead at client/team/business unit levels.
• Experience leading complex projects and programs.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and navigate complex technical topics.

Responsibilities

• Consult with internal business groups to provide advanced application software development services or technical support; resolve highly complex problems.
• Programming well-designed, testable, efficient code; analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites.
• Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation; maintain software functionality and currency.
• Actively participate in code reviews; integrate components into a fully functional system; apply security and privacy principles.
• Use in-depth knowledge of technologies to influence broad-based technology strategy for large IT divisions.
