Socket.dev is seeking a Sustaining Mechanical Engineer for Conroe, TX to own the health, reliability, and lifecycle performance of released products. This role bridges field reality and product evolution, translating issues into engineering improvements.

You will design, analyze, and validate structural/mechanical assemblies, manage changes, and lead cross‑functional investigations to drive reliability and cost reductions while supporting field service and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of mechanical design and sustaining engineering experience in heavy equipment, industrial machinery, or capital equipment."
• Strong CAD and analysis capabilities with hands-on field exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering support for released products across their full lifecycle, maintaining technical integrity, reliability, and safety.
• Triage and resolve field, customer, and manufacturing issues; determine root cause and define corrective action.
• Serve as rapid‑response technical resource for Field Service, customers, dealers, and production floor, balancing urgency with cost and risk.
• Initiate, own, and drive ECRs/ECOs arising from sustaining issues; ensure changes are properly analyzed and communicated.
