Job summary

DEMA Engineering Co. is seeking a Sustaining Engineer to support ongoing performance and reliability of existing products and manufacturing processes.

You will troubleshoot issues, implement design changes, and maintain documentation while collaborating with production, quality, and supplier teams. You will design prototype and production components with SolidWorks, support ECO/ECR processes, and help ensure compliance with specifications and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• Experience in sustaining engineering, manufacturing engineering, product engineering, or related role preferred.
• Experience with SolidWorks, PDM systems, CAD modeling, and engineering documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, fluids dynamics, and FEA analysis.
• Experience with sheet metal, plastics, and molded part design.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365; advanced Excel skills are a plus.
• Continuous improvement mindset and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve product performance and production issues.
• Develop and implement engineering design changes and product improvements.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, bills of material, prints, specifications, and test reports.
• Design and test prototype and production components using SolidWorks and related tools.
• Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, procurement, and customer support teams.
• Provide technical support for internal teams and customers.
• Assist with fixture design, prototype development, and production modifications.
• Help maintain compliance with product specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Train team members on new and existing processes as needed.
