Job summary

ICON is seeking a Manager, Sustaining Engineering in Austin, TX to lead a team of sustaining engineers, owning field issue resolution and reliability data systems that track performance.

You will collaborate daily with program management, manufacturing, field operations, and design engineering, and you are accountable for priorities, schedules, procedures, and budget execution. Sustaining owns everything after release.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience with hardware systems in production or field use.
• Experience leading engineers through root cause analysis and corrective action.
• Ability to define and run team procedures, work plans, and schedules.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Clear verbal and written communication with stakeholders.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of sustaining engineers and set priorities and reviews.
• Own field issue intake, triage, and closure with escalation paths.
• Create and revise work instructions and change-control procedures.
• Plan headcount, hiring, and budget adherence.
• Lead test planning and validation for enhancements and sustaining changes.
