Job summary

Star Holdings Group in Smithville, TN is seeking a Sustaining Engineer to support and improve the performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness of existing product lines. This role bridges engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to drive continuous product improvement and resolve design-related issues.

You will own legacy product support, lead RCA/CAPA, manage BOMs and ECNs, and ensure compliance with UL/NSF certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of sustaining, product support, or manufacturing engineering experience (industrial equipment or foodservice manufacturing preferred).
• Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks), ERP systems, and engineering change processes.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering support for legacy products, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Investigate and resolve product issues including design defects, supplier changes, and field returns.
• Drive cost reduction and value engineering initiatives without compromising performance or quality.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to implement product updates and process improvements.
• Develop and maintain detailed engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, and ECNs.
• Evaluate components and materials for potential obsolescence and implement suitable alternatives.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure ongoing product compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
