Job summary

Billerud NA is offering a co‑op program for engineering students in the United States. The role focuses on hands‑on process support in pulp, paper, and packaging, with rotations in January–August or May–December.

Candidates should be pursuing an engineering curriculum, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75, and have completed at least three semesters. Strong communication and teamwork are required, and eligibility to work in the United States is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Engineering curriculum with an interest in the Pulp, Paper and Packaging Industry.
• Minimum 2.75 GPA.
• Must have completed three semesters of college education prior to Co‑op start date.
• Must be available to work one of two Co‑op rotations which run either January through August or May through December.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate product improvement or cost optimization projects by conducting trials including development of trial plans and authoring trial reports.
• Assist with machine shutdowns and start‑ups.
• Monitor, assess, analyze, and optimize process quality and conditions.
• Monitor, assess, and analyze process variability.
• Reduce environmental impact.
• Provide technical support for key departments.
• Utilize problem solving and analytical skills to achieve department initiatives.
