Job summary

Billerud NA is seeking a co‑op engineering student to provide mechanical expertise supporting mill operations and reliability improvements. You will participate in projects to optimize equipment, assist with start-ups and shutdowns, and contribute to cost reductions.

Ideal candidates have an engineering curriculum, a 2.75 GPA or higher, and availability for one of two rotations. This paid coop offers exposure to a global sustainable packaging leader in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Engineering curriculum with an interest in the Pulp, Paper and Packaging Industry
• Minimum GPA 2.75
• Must have completed three semesters of college education prior to Co‑op start date
• Must be available for one of two Co‑op rotations (Jan–Aug or May–Dec)

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical expertise to support mill operations
• Work on projects to improve equipment reliability and reduce costs
• Assist with machine shutdowns and start-ups
• Monitor, assess, and optimize process equipment
• Monitor, assess, and analyze equipment variability
• Reduce environmental impact
• Provide technical support for key departments
• Utilize problem solving and analytical skills to achieve department initiatives
