Job summary

Stio is seeking a Materials Manager to source, develop, test, color, and commercialize fabrics and trims across the product range. The MM will manage seasonal materials timelines, supplier relations, and BOM integrity while collaborating with Design, Development, and PLM teams.

A sustainability focus drives preferred materials adoption toward 75%+, with travel up to 20%. The role reports to the Sourcing & Production Director and supports cross-department needs while adhering to calendar

Qualifications

• 3+ years of materials development and testing experience in apparel
• Deep knowledge of woven, knit, down and synthetic insulation fabrics
• Experience with PLM systems (Centric preferred) and data integrity best practices
• Proven track record of on-time material commercialization
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication

Responsibilities

• Curate and maintain a library of high-quality materials and trims aligned with brand requirements
• Source fabrics and trims meeting design intent, tech specs and cost targets
• Collaborate with mills and suppliers to develop new materials and constructions
• Own the seasonal materials timeline end-to-end from selection to production readiness
• Maintain PLM material records and conduct seasonal audits
• Manage material costing and staging including yardage coordination
• Support material certifications audits (RDS, RWS, GRS, GOTS) with sustainability lead
• Assist wholesale workbook accuracy for woven materials and tech data
• Participate in BOM scrubs and production readiness milestones
• Educate teams on material features and seasonal storytelling
• Support additional product ranges and annual budget adherence
