Job summary

Family Focus is recruiting a Resource Coordinator for the Sustainable Community Schools program at DePriest Elementary, Lawndale. The role leads planning and coordination of enrichment initiatives and ensures program resources meet student needs.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in education or related field, 3+ years in youth programming, and bilingual ability. Evening/Saturday availability and community travel are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, social work or related field.
• At least 3 years experience in youth programming preferably in a school setting.
• In some locations, bilingual skills (English/Spanish) may be required.
• Ability to communicate with school admin, teachers, parents, students and community members.
• Understanding of Illinois Learning Standards and experience providing educational enrichment services to youth.
• Computer skills – word processing, internet research, spreadsheets, and outreach materials creation.
• Must be available evenings and some Saturdays.
• Travel within the community will be required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and coordinate all Community School programs at DePriest Elementary School.
• Develop focused, creative and interactive academic and enrichment programs.
• Convene and facilitate the SCS Advisory Committee regularly.
• Identify school needs and align program resources to address them.
• Represent Family Focus at school and community meetings.
• Recruit students and families and execute retention strategies.
• Develop external partnerships to bring in resources for program sustainability.
• Plan family nights, parental involvement activities, and student showcases.
• Maintain contact with school staff to align with day activities and standards.
• Ensure collection of quality data: attendance, grades, surveys, needs assessments.
• Establish behavior expectations for participants throughout the program.
• Fulfill reporting, outreach, and engagement benchmarks with CPS and Family Focus.
