Job summary

Family Focus is seeking a Lead Instructor (Part-time) at Lawndale - DePriest Elementary School in Chicago. The role supports the Community School program, with 29 hours per week scheduled Monday through Friday, 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

The position is non-exempt and pays $22 per hour. Responsibilities include assisting in developing and delivering enrichment activities, supporting instruction in math, literacy, and science, and maintaining safety and positive, culturally relevant learning

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year experience working with urban youth in educational settings.
• Desire to have a positive impact on children and youth.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to manage time and classroom.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Instructor in the development and instruction of the Community School enrichment activities.
• Assist in instruction of math, literacy, and science activities.
• Maintain effective communication with the Lead Instructor and Resource Coordinator.
• Supervise and ensure safety of participants.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development trainings.
