Job summary

Urban Initiatives in Chicago is seeking a Sustainable Community Schools Site Coordinator to lead the SCS model implementation across CPS partner schools. The role reports to the Director of OST and School Principal, coordinating with students, families, educators, and community partners to weave SCS principles into school culture and daily practice.

We value a strategist, mentor, and facilitator who champions youth voice, equity, and restorative practices.

Qualifications

• Deep commitment to racial justice, equity, and community-led decision-making.
• Proven experience in community organizing, youth development, education, or related fields.
• Strong facilitation and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Bilingual skills, particularly Spanish or other languages represented in the community (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate whole-school and community planning aligned with SCS principles.
• Develop, convene, and maintain a representative SCS Leadership Team meeting monthly.
• Support shared leadership by encouraging equitable participation across all school groups.
• Align school and community resources to meet the collective vision.
• Design outreach strategies engaging youth, parents, educators, and community members.
• Co-design the Needs and Assets Assessment with the Leadership Team.
• Translate findings into strategic goals in school planning documents.
• Ensure transparency through reports and communications.
• Manage community school programs and collaborate with families and staff.
