Job summary

BNSF Environmental & Sustainability Summer Intern in Fort Worth, TX offers hands-on, full-time experience supporting sustainability initiatives. You’ll join a team focused on reducing environmental footprint, with opportunities to influence next-gen locomotive technologies and facility electrification.

Interns gain real-world project exposure, mentorship, and potential full-time Trainee opportunities after graduation, while balancing a structured orientation and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Graduate degree in natural sciences, engineering, or sustainability.
• Minimum GPA 2.75.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Less than three years of professional work experience excluding internships.
• Reliable transportation to/from location.
• Willing to relocate if located more than 50 miles from the site.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a diverse team to understand and advise on sustainability strategy.
• Contribute to projects on next generation locomotives, charging, facility electrification, and other innovations.
• Work with the commercial team to leverage sustainability plans to deliver value for customers.
• Participate in meaningful projects with visibility across BNSF.
