City of Indianapolis, Department of Public Works, Office of Sustainability seeks a knowledgeable professional to lead philanthropic partnerships and monitor progress against the City’s sustainabilityAction plan. You will coordinate reporting, manage grant implementation, and support federal programs like Knozone and EV education.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science, sustainability management and policy, environmental engineering, or a comparable degree.
• A combination of education and experience equal to five (5) years is acceptable.
• Experience with analyzing and modeling datasets.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to interact tactfully with a variety of individuals.
• Ability to use Outlook and Microsoft Windows Office Suite and to conduct online research.
• Effective record keeping, time management and project management skills.
• Effective in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Demonstrated creative ability when presented with unformatted projects and/or ideas.

Mansioni

• Monitor the progress of the City’s sustainability and resilience action plan, coordinating internal efforts to communicate across departments and track progress towards goals.
• Manage the Thrive Indianapolis website and updates of progress to the community.
• Assist in the management and administration of $1.2M of federal funding to operate the City’s air quality awareness program, Knozone, and the electric vehicle educational campaign, Highly Evolved.
• Monitor environmental and sustainability policies and legislation at federal and state levels and collaborate with key internal stakeholders on how their work may be impacted.
• Monitor and interprets funding opportunities for relevant projects from federal and state, local and private entities.
• Represent the office on new electric vehicles and charging infrastructure initiatives
• Act as technical expert for recycling policies and best practices: staying up to date on the local market and new opportunities.
• Engage with and manage relationships with key stakeholders in the industry.
• Identify and execute opportunities for cross-departmental collaboration to advance sustainability initiatives and the City’s impact for improving our community’s resilience.
• Assist team members in identifying key equity considerations and possible solutions to aid in resilience and equity-building across the city
• Support team members and Administrator on key initiatives and special assignments as necessary
• Serve as a technical support as part of OOS team to gather, analyze, and report data for annual reporting requirements including but not limited to CDP and ACEEE Clean Energy Scorecard.
