Job summary

Greenridge Group is seeking an experienced Engineer IV – Electrical (Sustainability) to support the LACCD BuildLACCD Bond Program in Los Angeles. You will serve as a technical SME, evaluating electrical infrastructure and guiding solar PV, BESS, microgrids, EV charging, and building electrification projects.

Responsibilities include reviewing designs, conducting load studies, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring code compliance with Title 24, NEC, and CALGreen.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required.
• Active California PE license in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of professional electrical engineering experience in design, construction, or facilities infrastructure.
• Strong working knowledge of California energy codes, Title 24, NEC, CALGreen, and applicable electrical engineering standards.
• Ability to evaluate electrical infrastructure, review engineering documentation, and provide sound technical recommendations.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide Electrical Engineering Expertise: SME, supporting Project Managers and engineering teams across multiple sustainability initiatives.
• Evaluate Electrical Infrastructure: Assess existing electrical systems, equipment, service capacity, and opportunities for improvements.
• Support Clean Energy Projects: Technical guidance for solar PV systems, battery energy storage (BESS), microgrids, EV charging infrastructure, and building electrification.
• Review Engineering Designs: Evaluate electrical drawings, specifications, engineering studies, submittals, RFIs, and change order proposals.
• Conduct Technical Studies: Perform or review electrical load studies, capacity assessments, feasibility studies, and infrastructure evaluations.
• Coordinate with Project Teams: Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, utility providers, and campus representatives.
• Support Project Planning: Develop and review technical scopes of work, project requirements, and engineering recommendations.
• Ensure Code Compliance: Apply California Title 24, NEC, CALGreen, and other applicable engineering standards.
• Support Construction and Commissioning: Participate in site visits, technical meetings, system evaluations, and project closeout activities.
