Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Environmental Sustainability Intern for Summer 2027 in Charlotte, NC. You will support the Sustainability Management Action Plan, collect and analyze data, and prepare reports and internal materials.

The role involves collaboration with project teams, NEPA support, and development of public-facing materials. Ideal candidates include master's students in sustainability and experience with LEED or lifecycle assessments.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with NEPA, EIS, and environmental regulations.
• Coursework or projects related to sustainability, carbon accounting or CSR.
• Participation in campus or community sustainability initiatives.
• In-progress master's level in sustainability or related field.
• Knowledge of sustainability frameworks (LEED, Envision) or sustainable manufacturing.
• Familiarity with carbon footprint calculation or lifecycle assessments.
• Detailed technical writing and reporting abilities.
• Basic data entry into spreadsheets or databases.

Responsibilities

• Support the US Sustainability Management Action Plan.
• Collaborate with internal leads to track sustainability action items.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to sustainability goals.
• Prepare internal reports and presentations.
• Contribute to sustainability communications and initiatives.
• Provide NEPA support as needed.
• Document control for project communications.
• Aid in creating public-facing project materials.
• Attend and document coordination between the project team, clients, and agencies.
