A sustainability-focused engineering firm in Wisconsin seeks a Sustainability and Safety Engineer to lead sustainability initiatives and enhance workplace safety. Qualifications

• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001/45001 standards.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to spot trends and drive improvements.
• Excellent communication skills and a hands-on, shop-floor-first mindset.
• Preferred certifications include CHMM, LEED Green Associate, or sustainability reporting experience.
• Experience with Scope 2 & 3 emissions, CSRD, and CO₂ reduction projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sustainability initiatives focused on energy, waste, water, and carbon reduction.
• Track/analyze sustainability metrics to measure progress and identify opportunities.
• Support ISO 14001 certification and compliance across the site.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to design greener processes.
• Integrate safety & sustainability into new projects & equipment installations.
• Deliver and improve safety training for employees and contractors.
• Conduct risk assessments and ergonomic evaluations to reduce hazards.
• Reinforce safety policies and procedures to strengthen our culture of safety.
• Lead health and safety programs aligned with OSHA and internal standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and ergonomic evaluations to reduce hazards.
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions through daily plant engagement.
• Support incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Deliver and improve safety training for employees and contractors; lead orientations.
• Perform audits, inspections, and compliance checks across regulatory areas.
• Maintain KPIs, OSHA logs, and required documentation.
• Coordinate emergency drills and PPE/safety equipment management.

What You’ll Do:

In this role, you’ll blend hands‑on shop floor engagement with data‑driven strategy, ensuring our teams stay safe, our operations stay compliant, and our environmental impact continues to shrink. Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship

1. Develop and implement sustainability initiatives focused on energy, waste, water, and carbon reduction.

6. Support ESG reporting requirements/corporate sustainability commitments.
7. Stay current on emerging technologies/best practices in EHS/sustainability.

Safety & Compliance Leadership

1. Reinforce safety policies and procedures to strengthen our culture of safety.
2. Lead health & safety programs aligned with OSHA and internal standards.
3. Conduct risk assessments and ergonomic evaluations to reduce hazards.
4. Identify/correct unsafe conditions through daily engagement in the plant.
5. Support incident investigations and root cause analysis.
6. Deliver and improve safety training for employees and contractors. Lead new‑hire safety and environmental orientations.
7. Perform audits/inspections/compliance checks across all regulatory areas.
8. Maintain KPIs, OSHA logs, and required documentation.
9. Coordinate emergency drills/security assessments to ensure preparedness.Manage PPE and safety equipment needs.
10. Participate in Gemba and continuous improvement meetings to reinforce safety and environmental priorities.

Who You Are:
