Job summary

HDR invites students to join our Sustainability and Resiliency Intern program in Austin, TX. This temporary role offers real-world project experience, mentorship from industry professionals, and exposure to environmental planning and engineering within our diverse service lines.

As an intern, you will apply engineering techniques under supervision, develop problem-solving and communication skills, and contribute to ongoing efforts toward sustainable infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
  • Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of environmental science and planners in addition to engineering

Responsibilities

  • Gain real-world experience on exciting projects
  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
  • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional engineer
  • Perform other duties as needed
