OMAKAI sushi - Wynwood in Miami is seeking an experienced Sushi Chef to join our kitchen team. You will prepare nigiri, handrolls, sashimi, and other items, ensuring every dish meets our high standards by following recipes and preparation instructions.

The role requires three years of sushi-making experience and knowledge of Japanese cuisine. You will help manage inventory, contribute to staff training, and maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Three years of sushi-making experience required.
• Japanese cuisine knowledge required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Display a positive and friendly attitude.
• Maintain professional demeanor at all times.
• Ability to educate customers and staff about products and processes.
• Make recommendations and adhere to food allergy policies.
• Handle food safely according to policies.
• Work well in a team and communicate under pressure.
• Learn and memorize the full menu.

Responsabilités

• Ensure quality of food and items prepared to highest standards.
• Know and learn the full menu.
• Minimize waste of food and kitchen items.
• Clean and filet fish; prepare nigiri, handrolls, sashimi.
• Prepare rice per recipe; washing and cooking.
• Oversee inventory and supplier orders.
• Contribute to kitchen staff training.
• Perform side jobs and keep stations clean.
• Abide by labor health and safety laws.
