Job summary

Bamboo Sushi is seeking a part-time Sushi Chef for our SW Portland location at 404 SW 12th Ave, Portland, OR 97205. The role includes working with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure consistent, timely preparation of ingredients and sushi bar items.

We offer competitive hourly wages from $18.00 to $22.00 plus tips that can average over $27 per hour, with benefits such as health options, a 401(k), vacation time, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in high-volume food service preferred.
• Knowledge of proper food handling and storage.
• Willingness to learn and progress through sushi-kitchen stations.

Responsibilities

• Follow company policies and food safety standards.
• Maintain clean, organized workstations and practice safe handling.
• Continued education on Japanese cuisine and beverages.
• Perform additional duties as assigned for each position.
• Work with kitchen and FOH teams to ensure timely preparation of sushi items.
• Progress through three rotating stations based on skill level.
