JOEY Restaurants in Houston, TX is seeking a skilled sushi prep cook to produce all sushi menu items with precision in a fast-paced, high-energy kitchen. You will follow JOEY recipes, maintain mise en place, and work closely with teammates to deliver world-class hospitality.

In this role, you will produce all sushi menu items while rolling under the pressure of a demanding and fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Prep all ingredients and food products to fulfill prep lists, par levels, and recipe standards.
• Utilize various prep and cooking methods to ensure the quick, precise creation of our menu itemsin accordance withJOEY recipes. Wash, chop, cut, grill, roast, sauté, fry, etc. Coordinate with other stations as needed.
• Maintainprep and cooking areas ina clean,sanitary,and safe manner.
• Clean, organize, andmaintainrefrigerators, cooler drawers, ovens,prepand dry storage areas, etc.
• Complete assigned side work and closing duties to set your team up for success. Stock, clean, and organize line stations.
• Follow all instructions and guidelines for safe usage of kitchen equipment and cleaning compounds. Report equipment problems and maintenance issues to leadershipimmediately.
• Follow all food service and handling safety precautions and procedures.

Basic Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of culinary experience(If you have high potential but less experience, we still want to meet you!).
• Must have or be able to obtain valid local and/or state Food Handler permits.
• Possess a passion for hospitality and a proventrack recordof creating world-class hospitality experiences.
• Thrive in adynamic,fast-paced work environment.
• Be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; frequent bending, reaching, and stretching; repetitive manual tasks; and lift and carry up to 50lbs.
