Job summary

Grand Hyatt Vail is seeking a skilled sushi chef to join our culinary team in Vail, Colorado. The role focuses on producing high-quality, consistent sushi offerings, overseeing menu development, and maintaining strict standards in food production and staff coordination.

This on-site position requires extensive kitchen experience, culinary training, and strong communication, organizational, and teaching abilities to mentor junior staff and ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years work experience as a specialized sushi chef in a hotel or large restaurant.
• Culinary education, cost control, communication skills, computer skills, organizational skills, guest contact experience and culinary teaching skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Produce a consistent product to meet and exceed guests' needs in a timely manner.
• Responsibilities include menu development and design, monitoring food production, quality and consistency, and staffing levels, and assisting in departmental trainings.

This position is responsible for producing a consistent product to meet and exceed guests' needs in a timely manner. In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations are vital for this position. Skills and knowledge to include culinary education, cost control, communication skills, computer skills, organizational skills, guest contact experience and culinary teaching skills and knowledge. The salary range starts at $80,000-$90,000 for this position. Actual pay will be commensurate with experience.
