Job summary

The Indigo Road Hospitality Group (IRHG) is seeking a talented Sushi Chef to craft high-quality nigiri and sushi in a fast-paced kitchen. You will bring passion, precision, and creative flair to every plate while maintaining top standards for portion sizes and presentation.

You will train teammates, uphold sanitation and safety guidelines, and contribute to a dynamic, guest-focused dining experience across locations.

Qualifications

• At least two years' experience in kitchen preparation and line cook duties.
• Must be able to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers, employees, and guests.
• Flexible schedule to cover days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Constant standing/walking with occasional stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, or lifting.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently prepare high-quality sushi per standard portions and methods.
• Provide training and guidance to other team members on sushi preparation and plating.
• Prepare and present all hot and cold sushi items per outlet standards.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation; comply with DHEC regulations.
• Close the kitchen properly and follow closing checklists.
• Report shortages or equipment issues to the Chef promptly.
