YWCA Kalamazoo is seeking a Permanent Housing Advocate to empower survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking through housing stabilization and resource navigation in Kalamazoo.

The role involves liaison work with MSHDA, property management, and community partners to promote timely recertifications and housing stability. Strong communication, crisis response, and documentation skills are essential, with Spanish language ability preferred.

Competenze

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Fluency in written and spoken Spanish is strongly preferred.
• Two years’ experience in direct services with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, or human trafficking is required; four years preferred.
• Experience in housing navigation, housing stabilization, or related areas is strongly preferred.

Mansioni

• Provide survivor-centered, trauma-informed housing stabilization and advocacy services.
• Conduct regular home visits to assess housing stability and address residents’ needs.
• Assist residents with navigating rental subsidies, recertifications, and housing resources.
• Coordinate partnerships among residents, service providers, and housing stakeholders.
• Support workforce-development programming and on-site resident engagement activities.
