Job summary

Mott MacDonald invites applications for an entry-level Surveyor I in the Duluth area. You will assist the crew lead and instrument operator with field tasks, data collection, staking, and measurement for pipeline projects in a collaborative, safety-focused environment.

This role emphasizes hands-on surveying, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols, with a hybrid in-office culture and travel as needed to project sites.

Qualifications

• Ability to walk and work outdoors for long hours in varying conditions.
• Must pass pre-employment fitness, background check and drug screen.
• Valid driver license and willingness to travel for extended periods.
• Familiarity with surveying terms and use of field equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting surveying data for pipeline projects.
• Place marks, stakes, pins and monuments.
• Drive stakes to fix survey points and determine locations.
• Measure distances with survey tape and read measurements accurately.
• Carry field equipment over rough terrain and long distances.
• Maintain field equipment and keep crew supplies stocked.
• Take directions from Party Chief and Instrument Operator safely.
