Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking an entry-level Surveyor I to support the surveying crew on pipeline projects. You will assist the crew lead and instrument operator with daily field tasks, mark and place stakes, measure distances, and help maintain field equipment.

The role requires walking, climbing, outdoor work in varied temperatures, and willingness to travel. A valid driver license and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifications

  • Ability to walk and climb over rough terrain and withstand working outside for up to 8-12 hours a day and 6 to 7 days per week in varying temperatures.
  • Must possess manual dexterity with the physical ability to work in situations which require bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and lifting/carrying items up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Protective eyewear, gloves, mask) and other safety equipment required by the company guidelines and procedures.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, background check, and drug screen.
  • Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time.
  • Previous pipeline surveying experience preferred. Previous Mott MacDonald experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with commonly used surveying terms and with the use and care of survey tools and other survey field equipment used for measuring, sighting, and leveling.
  • Strong work ethic and team-player attitude.
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment fitness-for-duty physical, background check and drug screen.
  • A valid driver license
  • Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time

The Surveyor I is an entry level position within land surveying. This is an important role assisting the crew lead and instrument operator with daily tasks.
