Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking an entry-level Surveyor I to support field crews on pipeline projects and civil works. You will assist with data collection, mark placement, and equipment handling in outdoor environments. The role requires physical endurance and willingness to travel for extended periods.

Ideal candidates understand surveying terms and are comfortable using field tools. The position offers a hybrid work approach and growth opportunities within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Must be able to walk and climb rough terrain outdoors for long shifts.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry field equipment.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, background check and drug screen.
• Willing to travel for extended periods.
• Familiarity with surveying terms and care of field tools is preferred.
• Previous pipeline surveying experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting surveying data for pipeline projects.
• Place marks, stakes, pins, and monuments.
• Drive stakes to fix survey points and determine locations.
• Measure distances with survey tape and read measurements.
• Carry field equipment over various terrain.
• Maintain field equipment and supplies; take directions from Party Chief/Instrument Operator.
