Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a Field Technician to assist field crews in day-to-day surveying tasks in Harrisburg, PA. This role supports the Geomatics/Survey department with field duties and operates under supervision with potential for growth.

Wage is $18.00–$22.00 per hour, with 95% field work and out-of-town travel possible up to 40%. Immigration sponsorship is not available except TN visa eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license required and ability to travel.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather and lift up to 50 lbs.

JMT’s Geomatics/Survey department offers an exciting work environment that leverages modern technology (terrestrial/mobile/aerial LiDAR, Drones, robotics, bathymetry, etc.), balanced with sound traditional survey procedures to deliver projects.

Position Summary

Assist field crew leaders in performing day-to-day field work.

Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g., H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Compensation for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. Required Skills

• Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
• Valid Driver’s License Required
• Able to pass Background Check
• Able to work 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday (Minimum)
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to bend, kneel, lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed

• Ability to travel required

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge in field surveying techniques, including data collection, traverse establishment, GNSS surveys, and construction stakeouts

Working Conditions

Field work is required 95% of the time, where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Out of town travel is possible up to 40% of the time. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required as needed.

Some Travel Required.

Some night shift work required.
