Job summary

RES Solar is seeking a Crew Chief I to lead a survey crew on RES Solar, T&D, and Preconstruction projects. This hands-on role includes construction staking, control point verification, and accurate field data collection while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Regular communication with the Field Coordinator helps meet project schedules and maintain organized surveying operations. Responsibilities include training Survey Technicians, operating company vehicles, and supporting UAV operations

Qualifications

• 2 years or more Construction Surveying Required
• Proficient with UAV operations preferred (Part 107 a plus)
• Ability to read plans, understand layouts, and adjust for site conditions

Responsibilities

• Leads and directs Survey Technicians during daily tasks.
• Performs construction staking, topographic surveys, and as-built data collection with minimal supervision.
• Sets, verifies, and maintains survey control points.
• Communicates daily workload plans, constraints, and progress to the Field Coordinator.
• Ensures survey equipment is maintained, calibrated, and ready for use.
• Maintains organized notes, point logs, and daily reports.
• Trains and mentors Survey Technicians in field procedures and equipment usage.
• Supports UAV operations for flights, mapping, and field data capture.
• Promotes continuous improvement and uphold RES surveying best practices.
