Civil & Environmental Consultants (CEC) is offering a Survey Technician Intern position in our Chicago, IL area office. The role provides hands-on field experience on topographic, boundary, route, and stream surveys, plus construction stakeouts and data collection using advanced survey tools.

Interns will learn to use robotic total stations, GPS, drones, and LiDAR scanning, while developing skills in data interpretation, field computations, and team collaboration under a mentor.

Formación

• Current enrollment in an Associates or Bachelors in Survey program, or related field of study preferred
• Prior internship and/or survey experience a plus
• Possession of sufficient physical stamina to work outdoors under various field conditions
• Occasional travel may be required
• Valid Driver's License

Responsabilidades

• Assist experienced survey field staff performing work on topographic and boundary surveys, route surveys, stream surveys, and construction stakeouts
• Gain exposure to progressive technology including robotic total stations, GPS, Unmanned Aerial Systems (drones), and LiDAR scanning
• Learn to collect survey data and search for boundary evidence while working in a variety of terrain and outdoor conditions
• Perform physical tasks such as setting stakes and monuments, clearing brush, and laden hiking
• Utilize surveying software applications to gather, retrieve and interpret important data, and perform fundamental survey computations
