Job summary

Moore Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Survey Technician II to gather field data and stake boundary or construction lines for our land surveying and engineering projects.

You will work in a 100% employee-owned firm that values respect, integrity, accountability, loyalty, and kindness while serving communities across Colorado. The role requires operating Trimble GPS/Robotic/Total Stations and physical stamina for field work in a team setting.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Surveying or Civil Engineering or minimum two years of experience in a survey technician role.
• Must be able to operate survey field equipment including Trimble GPS, Robotic, and Total Stations.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
• Ability to perform physical work (lifting 50 to 100 pounds, strenuous walking, bending).
• Ability to extract, understand, and maintain data collected in the field.

Responsibilities

• Follows the directives of the Survey Crew Chief to complete assigned projects.
• Understands data shown on data collectors and distinguishes erroneous data from good data.
• Adheres to company procedures and state requirements for field data formats.
• Maintains equipment in good working condition including calibrations, collimations, and cleaning; keeps maintenance records.
• Keeps survey vehicle stocked with lath, hubs, pins, paint, ribbon, and other supplies.
• Adheres to safety procedures and uses provided PPE.
• Other duties as assigned.
